Updated: Channels TV Sunrise Daily Presenters Arrested over Anti-Buhari Interview

Femi Ashekun/

Suspected security agents have arrested Channels TV Sunrise Daily presenters over purported anti-Buhari interviews.

NewsmakersNG learned that Chamberlain Usoh Maupe Ogun, and Kayode Okikiolu were picked up by security agents this morning.

Their arrest is reportedly connected with interviews with Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State during which he accused President Muhammadu Buhari of promoting a Fulanisation agenda and another guest, retired Commodore Kunle Olawunmi, who alleged that people high up in Buhari’s government “are sponsors of Boko Haram”.

Sunrise Daily’s lead anchor and producer, Chamberlain Usoh, who confirmed the development to NewsmakersNG on the telephone, said he did not know yet where they were being taken to.

NewsmakersNG later found that they were taken to the NBC office in Abuja for questioning.
