Police Stop Bloodbath as Lotto Game Sparks Ethnic War at Lagos Market

A disagreement between a Lotto player and contractor over winnings reportedly snowballed into a feud that claimed lives at Ile-Epo market in Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos State early today.

According to an eyewitness, a man from the South-West played the Lotto game and won N14,000. The game coordinator, who is a northerner allegedly insisted on paying him N12,000.

The Lotto player reportedly disagreed and a fight ensued leading to the Lotto contractor killing the player.

The eyewitness told NewsmakersNG that the death of the Lotto player escalated the disagreement that eventually led to a tribal war that claimed some lives before the arrival of the police.

The police promptly brought the situation under control and restricted movement in the area.
