Young Police Officers across the Nation’s Commands and formations have commenced a strategic leadership course at the Police Staff College, Jos, Plateau State.

The Commandant of the College and Assistant Inspector General of Police, Donald N. Awunah, inaugurated the course participants of “Operational Leadership Command Course 7/2021” on Monday.

The ceremony saw young Officers, drawn from various police commands and formations across the country, begin a journey to enhance their operational competences and avail them with modern techniques in dealing with present day security challenges.

Awunah, a seasoned Police Officer with administrative and operational capabilities, welcomed the young officers with words of encouragement.

As part of his address, he encouraged participants to take advantage of the programme

as their cadre represents a critical link in the realization of the tenets of policing by the best practices as envisioned by the present leadership of the force under the command of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.

Awunah reminded the course participants that discipline is the bedrock of the force and that they are therefore expected to be exemplary in their conducts, while the course lasts.

On that note, the Operational Leadership and Command Course 7/2021 was declared open and the Commandant as well as his Management Team had a group photograph with the participants.
