A first of its kind togetherness between perceived rival religious sects is holding in London on July 29.

The Cherubim & Seraphim (C&S) and Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) movements have always kept a safe distance from each other because each claims superiority over the other. They are however coming together on this date to hold a joint programme.

The newly found unity is a product of oneness in Christ doctrine as preached by a Reverend Mother, Prophetess Esther Ajayi, who is the founder of the Love of Christ Generation Church C&S (Glory of God Shines).

The Reverend Mother, who earned the chieftaincy title of the Iya Adura of Ile-Ife, courtesy of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi in recognition of her resilience in church and people management, has taken the C&S movement to a new height. She is a preacher and gospeller with a difference.

She can be likened to the biblical fisher-of-men as she keeps on convincing people on why they should serve God with zeal and one mind, shunning discriminatory tendencies in the name of religion. She puts her all into bringing people into God’s vineyard to serve the almighty father and be blessed.

The various misconceptions about white garment churches were taken in her stride as she put on her thinking cap, and sought new ways of doing old things in her pastoral duties. Her Love of Christ Generation Church C&S (Glory of God shines), situated at Clapham Road, Clapham, London, is besieged by young and old who enjoy the new worship mode of Reverend Mother Ajayi. The 2nd anniversary celebration of the church is scheduled to hold in September this year.

Prophetess Ajayi: Forging a union for Christ

In a chat with the Reverend Mother, Prophetess Ajayi told NewsMakers that she will serve God diligently and not mind whatever criticism from any quarters. She refused to be distracted in any way. White garment churches study, believe in, and preach the bible, like other churches, but Love of God Generation Church C&S pastors its flock with a difference as the poor and middle class are always put into consideration in human development and spiritual growth programmes of the church. The Reverend Mother insisted that whoever is doing a good thing should expect criticism, which only affirms that the person is on the right track.

God loves us equally; therefore, there should not be discrimination against any religious sect.

“I refused to be confused. I want to correct the impression that we are not a bible believing church. Bible is my breakfast, lunch and dinner. We need to correct the people’s mindset,” she said.

She is appealing to all the people who have succumbed to criticism and shifted worship base from the C&S to other churches to reconsider their decision as God is doing wonders within garment churches, contrary to people’s misconception.
