Emir of Bungudu, in Zamfara State, Hassan Attahiru, has been abducted by suspected bandits.
NewsmakersNG learned that the first class traditional ruler was abducted while traveling along the Kaduna-Abuja highway this evening.
Some police officers were reportedly killed during an exchange of gunfire with the bandits.
It was gathered that only the Emir was abducted during the attack that left some of his traditional guards injured.
Attahiru is the paramount ruler of the Bungudu Emirate.
