Several persons were shot today and a bank manager killed as bandits stormed a branch of Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) in Rivers State and other banks in Owo, Ondo State.
According to eyewitnesses, a bank manager was shot dead and several customers injured in one of the banks raided in Owo. A bank was also set on fire.
The robbery in Rivers was between 8am and 9am along Shell RA Bus Stop in Port Harcourt.
No one was sure how much was stolen, but a soldier was seen chasing the robbers, who escaped through Rumuibekwe Street, with his car.
The state police spokesman, Mr Nnandi Omond, said that he learnt of the robbery, but had no details.

  1. Crime rates seems to have skyrocketed in the last couple of years due to the hardship in the country. It is obvious the Nigerian Police Force is doing everything in making sure criminal activities are reduced to a significant low level, unfortunately the state of the nation is tragically saddening.
