The Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, has ordered the indefinite suspension of the traditional ruler of Fannami, in Bade local government area of the state, for allegedly raping a six-year-old boy.
The Commissioner for Information, Home Affairs and Culture, Abdullahi Bego, in a statement said the governor also directed that a thorough investigation should be conducted into the crime and the alleged culprit prosecuted.
Bego said the matter had been reported to the police and the traditional ruler would remain suspended until investigation is concluded.
The statement says the unnamed victim had been evaluated and treated at the General Hospital in Gashu’a.
