Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, says the state government plans to immortalise the late commissioner for environment and natural resources, Kehinde Ayoola.
Ayoola died at a private hospital in Ibadan, the state capital, last week, after a brief illness.
Makinde made this known in a series of tweets on his handle, @seyimakinde, today.
He said the late Ayoola would be immortalised for his “dedication to duty and his passion for the people of Oyo State”.
The governor tweeted, “This morning, the Oyo State Executive Council held a valedictory session for our friend and colleague, Rt Honourable Kehinde Ayoola, who served as the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources until his untimely death on Thursday, May 14, 2020.
“Rt Hon Ayoola oversaw the new waste management architecture which is currently being implemented in Oyo State. He personally supervised the ongoing rehabilitation of the dumpsite at Awotan, near Apete in Ido Local Government Area.
“In the coming days, we will unveil how the Oyo State Government will immortalise him for his dedication to duty and his passion for the people of Oyo State.
“Rt Hon Kehinde Ayoola will be missed by all who worked with him. We thank his wife and children for honouring us with their presence at the valedictory session held in his honour. We are all united in this loss of a rare gem.”
