Hackers Sweep N.9M from First Bank Customer’s Account

A Sokoto High Court has jailed two fraudsters for hacking the First Bank account of one Isah Liba and stealing N986,000.

Akhipkemelo Lukman and Esene Daniel were arraigned before Justice Aminu Garba Sifawa, Wednesday by the Sokoto Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

They were arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and cheating. 

The defendants pleaded guilty to the charges. 

Based on their pleas, prosecution counsel, Mela Gwani, prayed the court to convict and sentence them accordingly. 

The judge consequently convicted and sentenced both men to three and half years imprisonment with an option of N70,000 fine each.
