Double Standard: Lady Remanded in Prison for Allegedly Assaulting Police Officer, Seun Kuti Granted Bail

An Eti-Osa Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State has ordered a lady, identified as Oluwafunmilayo Erioluwa, to be remanded in prison custody for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

NewsmakersNG learnt that the incident that led to her arraignment in court today took place at Ogombo, Eti-Osa local government area, yesterday night.

Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, was also yesterday arraigned on the same offence in Yaba Magistrates’ Court 1 and granted bail by a Chief Magistrate, Mrs, Adeola Olatunbosun.

But in the case of Erioluwa, the magistrate, M.O. Alao, ordered that she should remanded at the Kirikiri correctional facility till June 6 when the case will come up again.

Police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development in a tweet late yesterday.
